Please read the following notice, written by Graeme Budler our Executive Principal, regarding the closure of KingsWay School on Wednesday, 29 May.

Dear KingsWay Community

As you may be aware, KingsWay teachers, who are NZEI and PPTA union members, are scheduled to participate in the nationwide strike on Wednesday, 29 May. The Executive Management Team fully supports our teachers in their quest for better working conditions and increased remuneration. As more than half of our teachers are union members and obligated to join the industrial action, and many others need to take a day’s leave to look after their children, I have reluctantly decided to close the school for instruction. The only reason the strike may be called off is if the government comes up with an acceptable offer before 29 May. Please pray for a speedy and acceptable outcome to this stalemate.
