Week 10, Term 3

Dear Parents, Caregivers, and Whanau

As we come to the end of yet another exciting term, it is time for a well-deserved break after ten weeks of extensive and interesting learning experiences. All students thoroughly enjoyed the Year 5 & 6 Market Day and we are sure that the children in Mongolia will be forever grateful for the money raised.

Please take time to enjoy the company of family and friends. If you are going away please travel safely, rest up and have a wonderful break for the holidays. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday 17th October.

Laptops for Term 4

Our topic/unit of inquiry for Term 4 is Digital Discoveries which has a strong digital focus and component. If your child has access to a device please can they bring it to school on a daily basis. Please also ensure devices are fully charged the night before.

Parent/Teacher Conference

We trust that the recent Parent/Teacher conferences were helpful and informative.

Term 4, Year 5&6 Cricket Zone Day

When: Thursday, 10th November 2022 (Rain saver day, Tuesday 15th November)

Where: Victor Eaves Park, Orewa.

Time: 9.00am – 3.00pm

Divisions: Boys A, Girls A, Boys B, Girls B

General:

Teams consist of 8 players.

Innings are 8 overs per team.

A soft cricket ball will be used.

Pitch length will be 14m.

Boys and Girls compete in separate competitions however Girls can also be in Boys' teams.

If your child is interested to be part of a team to attend this zone day, please can you send an email to Mrs Jansen van Rensburg at m.jansenvanrensburg@kingsway.school.nz before Wednesday, 19th October 2022. Please put your child’s name, last name and year level in the email.

Further information will follow in Term 4.

Term 4, Year 5 & 6 TAG zone day

When: Tuesday, 1 November 2022

Where: Raiders Club, Stanmore Bay (by the Leisure Centre)

Time: 9.00am – 3.00pm

General information:

Mixed teams only (minimum 2 girls on the field, ideally at least 4 girls per team), max 14 students per team.

It's a festival, not a tournament.

Students with their own TAG shorts should wear them, otherwise Auckland Tag will provide them for students to wear.

If your child is interested to join a TAG team, please send an email to Mrs Jansen van Rensburg at m.jansenvanrensburg@kingsway.school.nz before Friday, 14th October.
