Strength Explorers

Focusing on how God has created us to flourish and thrive by understanding how we naturally think, feel and then behave.

Initiated and implemented in the Year 8 Leadership unit, the students top three strengths are discovered through a short online assessment and then explored through class-based activities.

In Year 9 Health the student’s top three themes are explored in more detail and depth with a particular focus on using and applying their strengths in a variety of school settings and beyond. Key learning here is the understanding that to be successfully working in our strengths zone it must be “good for me and good for others”.

Connecting to the KingsWay Wellbeing Framework (pictured above)

Research shows that when students discover and apply their strengths:

  • it can enhance their understanding of their own identity and belonging in the community where they are using their strengths.
  • it grows resilience as a young person understands and overcome challenges in their life using their strengths.
  • it positively impacts their productivity and engagement in school.
  • it builds hope and a direction for their future as they discover who God created them to be and how they influence and impact the world for His glory.

The image below explains the 10 Strength Explorers themes.
