KingsWay School — Apr 9, 2020

An update from Peter Wilding, Board of Trustees Chairperson

Dear KingsWay Community

The KingsWay School Board of Trustees and the school management team wish to convey our heartfelt thanks to you all for your support and willingness to accommodate the often very rapid changes to our school’s processes and education delivery for your children. With often daily new instructions from our government and the Ministry of Education our school has had to be incredibly agile and implement processes that were still often in development. We are also grateful for the support our teachers and other staff have given is helping us navigate these fluid times.

We are keenly aware that the impact of COVID-19 has impacted people differently. While some families have managed with relative ease, other families have faced significant challenges. In particular, if your family is going to struggle with school fees and donations in the coming months as a result of loss of income and you’re not eligible for government support please let the school know. While we rely heavily on parent financial support to help run the school these are unique times and we don’t want any family who has been connected to our school to lose this connection due to the impact of COVID-19. Please talk with us.

On a brighter note, technology has helped many of us maintain relationships, do church and even keep up with regular virtual coffee mornings with friends. Some people have described eating together as families for the first time in years. No longer are some parents leaving home in the dark and getting home when the kids are in bed. These have been some of the positives to come out of these times.

This pandemic didn’t catch our God by surprise and as promised in Romans 8, He brings good out of life’s storms and He’s doing it again with Covid-19. Our days are numbered by God, not a virus, and in Him is a wonderful peace, a peace that passes understanding and is not dependent on current events. Nothing can separate us from His love including our present or future circumstances, media reports, financial crisis’s or viruses. There is nothing in all the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love (Rom 8 Passion translation).

We pray a blessing of peace, health and provision over every member of our school, our communities and for our government and authorities as they lead our country through these extraordinary times.

Peter Wilding,
Chairperson Board of Trustees
