Many years of planning and preparation have gone into the commencement of our Junior Secondary in 2022 for the Year 10 cohort.

It is exciting to look ahead to our Junior Secondary programme, which is designed for this age group in particular. Parents of current Year 9 students will have already received information about this and have been invited to join a parent consultation group, which had their first meeting this week.

The Year 9 students are being welcomed on this journey along the way. Graeme Budler, Vanessa Gatman and Lisa Lambert have met with the Year 9 cohort to explain the big picture concepts, and this was followed later with a tour of the Te Kainga Junior Secondary spaces. It was wonderful to see these students explore the inside learning spaces that have already been completed, the outdoor area of the Junior Secondary, and also the Science and Technology spaces currently being finished. There was real engagement and a buzz of excitement. We look forward to gathering their questions and ideas and for these to be used.

More information will follow regarding the Senior School and Junior Secondary options evening on Thursday 29 August. This evening was mentioned by Graeme in the previous communication as an evening where we request parent representation from each family as we unpack more about Junior Secondary.
