Year 3-9 Cross Country Information
Dear Parents/Whanau,
The Year 3-9 School Cross Country has been scheduled for Wednesday 12th August (Week 4). Tuesday 18th August is the scheduled saver/rain day, to be advised of only if the event is not going ahead on the 12th.
Primary School races will be followed by the Middle School races on this day. Students will travel by bus and meet at 9:45am at Shakespeare Regional Park, for a race briefing. Parents are also invited to attend this. The race start times are listed below. Please note these times are approximate times only, however, the races will NOT start earlier than shown.
- 10:00am Day/Race briefing for all
- 10:30am Year 3&4 Boys and Girls (approx. 1.5km)
- 11:00am Year 5&6 Boys and Girls (approx. 2.6km)
- 11:30am Year 7 Boys and Girls (approx. 3.0km)
- 12:00pm -12:30pm House Activities
- 12:30pm Year 8 Boys and Girls (approx. 3.5km)
- 12:50pm Year 9 Boys and Girls (approx. 3.5km)
- 1:30pm Clean up, briefing and Prize giving (time dependent)
- 2:15pm Buses leave for KingsWay.
Students will need to bring:
- House colours encouraged as well as a warm jacket – PE gear is ok also
- Drink bottle, packed lunch
- Optional: Towel and plastic bag (it will be muddy) – please make sure it is named
Wearing shoes is optional as the majority of the course is on grass/sand
We have started our training for this event. We will be talking with the students about the set course at Shakespear Regional Park.
