Message from Cristal McKoy - Head of Primary School
Kia Ora Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,
Thank you to all our families who have donated items already to our PTA fundraiser. A number of our teachers are also coming up with fun ways for their class to raise funds for our Primary Bike Track. You will see the below poster in each of classroom to track our progress.

Primary Sport 'Give It A Go' Programme
We launched our new Yr 3-6 Sport Programme last week. It was great to see the children show enthusiasm and excitement for the programme. Please note that, because of capacity limits for some of the sport groups, all allocations for Term 1 are final. As parents, you can help your child navigate disappointment well in how you talk to them if they "miss out" on their first or even second choice. Please encourage your child to participate fully in their group for the entire module as they may have the opportunity to do something different next term. Remember, children are to wear their PE gear and appropriate footwear. The programme will run rain or shine so send your kids prepared for any weather.
If your child has chosen a sport that has a cost associated with it, payment details are as follows:
- Bank deposit into the Primary School account: 12 3084 0192348 53; Ref: Name, Class, T1SportProg
- Cash (in named and labelled envelope) or Eftpos at Junior Campus reception
2023 Primary Badminton Zone Day: Yr 5-6 Only
Date: Wednesday 31st May 2023
Time: 9:00am-2:30pm
Cost: $25.00
Venue: Active Badminton Centre, 46 Apollo Drive, Mairangi Bay
Transportation: own transportation or the school van (if travelling in the school van, students will need to arrive at school by 8:00am). Please note, for your child to be selected they must be enrolled into the Friday Lunchtime Badminton Club and attend practices. If the registration number exceeds 18 students, a trial may be held to determine players. Registration closes Wednesday 10th May 2023. Registration Link: 2023 Badminton Zone Day Registration Link

Cricket Zone Day - More Players Required
The Cricket Zone Day has been postponed until Thursday 30th March due to the strike action. More players are needed to make up our teams for both boys and girls. This is a great day where the emphasis is on having fun and learning the game. Please email Raelene.Beguely@kingsway.school.nz by Monday 20th March to register your child's interest. Registration forms have gone out this week.
Grandparents Day Term 4
Yr 1-6 Annual Grandparents Day is scheduled for Term 4, 8th November (not Term 1 as originally stated on the school calendar), in conjunction with our Book Week in Term 4.
Junior Campus Lost Property
There are many unnamed drink bottles, lunchboxes, shoes and hats in lost property. Please take some time to look through our lost property cupboard if your child has lost items.
