Teacher Only Day

A friendly reminder that Monday, the 21st of November, is a Teacher Only Day

Zero Waste Zone

Our Year 4 Pukeko and Archey’s Frogs classes were set to head off to the Zero Waste Zone last week Friday but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances our trip had to be cancelled. Although we have tried to reschedule the trip, we have been unable to do so due to the availability of dates provided by the centre, not aligning with our school calendar and activities we’ve already committed to. We apologise for this and any inconvenience caused. As this trip was covered by your activity costs paid in the beginning of the year, parents will receive a credit on students accounts. We thank you for your understanding.

Visual Art

Next week, we are going to be creating decorations using materials that would typically go into recycling. Please could you start to save items that could be used to make art related decorations?

If you can assist us with the art day on Thursday, the 24th of November, we would be most grateful. We will start this project from 11:15am and it will run till the end of the day. Please let us know if you can help so that we have an idea of numbers. Any amount of time would be much appreciated. We will be taking a break from 12:45pm to 1:45pm for lunch.

Year 8 Assembly

Last week, we were treated by some Middle School students who came over to lead us in an assembly and time of worship. The Year 8’s connected beautifully with the children as they worshipped alongside our Year 4’s and showcased their leadership by taking charge of Assembly. This provides wonderful opportunities for our children on the Junior Campus to build relationships with our older students and for them to get a little taste of what’s to come when it is their time to head over to the Senior Campus.

Athletics Day

What a wonderful time of year it is, while it is a busy time for our children and their families, it is around this time that we can participate in such engaging and hands-on activities. One of these being, our annual Athletics Day. What a wonderful day to have seen the children participating in a range of races and individual events. There is such a beautiful atmosphere created by the background noises of house chants, cheering on of friends and abounding laughter. Well done to all our Year 4 tamariki on their participation and achievements!
