A Notice Regarding the Start of Alert Level 3

KingsWay School —

An Update from Graeme Budler.

Dear KingsWay Community,

I would like to thank all parents who promptly responded, requesting childcare during Alert Level 3. Those parents who indicated in the survey of their intention to send their children to school will receive a separate email from their child’s Head of School in the next two days outlining specific procedures. A ‘skeleton staff’ will supervise these students at the Senior Campus, while the rest of the staff focus their attention on the delivery of distance learning from home.

Please avoid visiting KingsWay School during Alert Level 3, and if unavoidable, report to reception. As we will be exercising strict health and safety measures, including contact tracing, no parents are allowed to drop off unregistered students. If your circumstances change, I request that you provide your child’s Head of School 24 hours notice of your intention to add to the student roll.

Phone contact with the School during Alert Level 3 is restricted to emergencies. Please email reception@kingsway.school.nz with general inquiries.

The KingsWay uniform shop is closed until further notice. The leadership will extend a period of grace when the school moves to Alert Level 2.

The Ministry of Education has identified the 28 April as a Teacher Only Day to prepare for the move to Alert Level 3. KingsWay’s staff also intend to use some of this time to plan for a return to Alert Level 2. We hope that students will return to school soon, and the staff are eager to hit the ground running when this happens.

The staff are missing the students immensely and regularly pray both privately and corporately for you as you soldier on at home in your bubbles. I am looking forward to the day when the school grounds are filled with laughter, learning and love again.

Kind regards,

Graeme Budler
Executive Principal
