NCEA examinations and upcoming dates for Senior School students.
NCEA Examinations
As noted in previous communications, we do encourage students to sit all external standards they are entered into. At this time, due to NZQA dates set earlier in the year, we are unable to withdraw students from external standards for exams. This means if they do not turn up for their exam, they will get an ‘SNA’/ student not assessed on their academic record.
Upcoming Dates for Senior School Students
This is the time of year when the number of events begins to increase dramatically. For this reason, please note the upcoming dates for Senior School students and parents.
- Friday 6th November:
Last day for Senior School students.
Leavers Assembly and Graduation. If you are a parent of a Year 13 student and have not yet paid, please pay asap. - Thursday 12th November is the official start of Years 11-13 students study leave, however, teachers may request students come in for ‘call back’ time at the start of this week. The aim of these callbacks is to give further time for revision, due to COVID-19.
- Monday 16 November: NCEA Exams begin (finishing on 9 December).
- Wednesday 18th November: Year 10 Exams Begin
- Thursday 19th November: Teacher Only Day. No students at school
- Last 2 weeks of Term 4: Year 10 End of Year Program. More information will come through about this program shortly to Year 10 Parents.
- Monday 30th November is Year 10 Work Experience Day. Note that all Year 10 students are out of school the whole day on work experience. Parents, please encourage students to start thinking about what work place they could visit.
- 1-3 December: Pathways/ Careers program for Year 10’s. We have a number of external careers providers coming in to run workshops and students will be given opportunity to achieve some NCEA credits as a kick start to their Level 1 qualification.
Friday 4th December is our annual Year 10 trip to Shakespear Park.
- Tuesday 8th December: Year Level Certificate Assemblies and Senior School Prizegiving *see note below
Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th December will see students involved in an overnight camp with the boys all heading to Wenderholm and the girls having a sleepover at school. These camps are based around the theme of healthy relationships that should help set up students well for their futures
10 December: last day of Term 4 (Year 10)
*Year Level Certificate Assemblies and Senior School Prizegiving
Tuesday 8th December: Year Level Certificate Assemblies and Senior School Prizegiving. Note that this year Sports Prizegiving and Academic Prizegiving will be combined. Year level prizegivings will happen throughout the day at the following times.
- Yr 13 Certificate Prizegiving - 9am
- Yr 12 Certificate Prizegiving - 10am
- Yr 11 Certificate Prizegiving - 11.10am
- Yr 10 Certificate Prizegiving - 12.10pm
Y 10-13 Awards Celebration 7pm onwards
