Year 9 Newsletter
Week 3, Term 3
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,
There is a wonderful buzz along the Year 9 corridors as we're settled into the term. Our students are enthusiastically engaging with their novel studies; The Boy in Striped Pajamas, as well as the Social Studies content dealing with World War II. It is a delight to hear the robust conversations and to see the learning that is happening.
Congratulations to the class leaders who have been selected for Semester 2. We trust that these leadership opportunities would be filled with much personal growth. The Peer Support council had a wonderful session with the Year 6 students on Monday afternoon.
Well done to the students who are part of the cast for The Lion King JR. They have worked hard and we're looking forward to seeing them shine on stage!
A reminder that the film tasks are due on Monday, 7 August. The Year 9 teachers are looking forward to seeing what each group has produced.

Leadership Breakfast
Wednesday, 16 August
On the morning of Wednesday, 16 August we will be hosting a student leadership breakfast. This is an opportunity for students from Years 9-13 to come along and share in a focussed time discussing leadership, and hearing from our guest speaker. This time around we have Mr Dan Lake, a Christian leadership coach, who has coached leadership teams in almost all continents around the world, and is the recent author of “A good Leadership Book”. Dan will be sharing around his story in leadership and creating points for discussions between students.
There are limited numbers for this event, so please sign up via THIS FORM to register for this event before 3:00 pm Friday, 11 August. A confirmation email will be sent once numbers and places for this event are confirmed.
