Year 2 Newsletter
Marian Bailie - February 2, 2023
Hello Parents and Whānau
Well the start of this year certainly wasn’t what we anticipated! We know many of our families have been significantly affected by the wild weather of the last week, we are praying for you and your families as you navigate these trying times.
We are so looking forward to starting the school year, meeting our new students and their families and getting formal learning underway. We are pleased to be partnering with you and teaching your child, nurturing them to be more Christ-like and servant hearted.
We believe the Lord has placed your child in our care for a reason, we will strive to fulfil this calling with the utmost love and care. Thank you for partnering with us and ensuring your child is ready and well organised for school, we are grateful.
Home Learning and readers will begin next week, please note that we cannot send a reading book home without a bookbag so please send these to school daily. Your child may have a book that they have read previously, this is intentional as we get organised and back into reading after the long break.
Specialist subjects: This year our Library, Spanish and P.E will take place on a Wednesday. Please send along Library bags each Wednesday so students can select new books, no Library bag = no books.
Important: Each class needs a Parent Representative who supports communication and builds community within the class outside of school. Often this involves setting up a WhatsApp group to keep in touch, share reminders and possibly plan a class catch up or picnic. This can be a shared role too! If you’re happy to help with this, please let your child’s teacher know.
More detailed information regarding the start of the year is found in the attachment. Please read through carefully as there is a lot of important Year 2 information in there.
We look forward to getting this year underway and pray that Year 2 is a positive one for each of our students!
Welcome Newsletters from your child's class teachers
