KingsWay School —

Junior Campus Notices

A Note from Jenny Harvey

2020 has certainly been a year to remember with worldwide events testing our faith and challenging us to walk in the Truth of what we claim to believe. In the song Even if by MercyMe, the lyrics go:

It's easy to sing
When there's nothing to bring me down
But what will I say
When I'm held to the flame
Like I am right now

I know You're able and I know You can
Save through the fire with Your mighty hand
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone

As Christian educators we constantly thank our Heavenly Father for the freedom and privilege we enjoy at KingsWay School to be able to speak openly to our children about the faithfulness of the Great and Mighty God whom we serve; to be able to teach them to pray and rejoice in times of uncertainty; and to remind them that whatever happens, we are to be Christians first in thought, word, and deed and we are to have confidence in the fact that King of Glory remains on His throne.

Despite the many interruptions to our year, we have much to be thankful for:

The final modifications made to the Totara Studio at the end of 2019 meant that the Juniors could enjoy the befits of having their own Ōwhanga (nest) right from the start of the year! As with the Kauri Studio, the physical changes made to the Totara Studio have positively impacted, not only the teaching and learning programmes being offered, but also the well-being of the teachers and students working in the spaces.

We were delighted to welcome new students and families into our community throughout the year and particularly commend our Term 2 New Entrants who began their first days of school in lockdown and with ‘distance learning’!

The passion and enthusiasm of the teachers never ceases to amaze me, and even through the challenges that this year brought, supporting the students with Home Learning and connecting with them via online platforms, they have remained upbeat, enthusiastic and committed to doing their best in the circumstances, while still being wives, and mothers to small children, themselves!

Along with the teachers, It is privilege to work in partnership with our parents as together we create the atmosphere and environment for our children to learn what it means to be followers of Jesus in the 21st Century, and as we come to end of another year on the Junior Campus, together with the psalmist, we declare:

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,
Because of Your mercy,
Because of Your truth.
(Psalm 115:1)

Parents getting messages to their child in school hours:

Please note: Parents are asked to inform the Junior Campus office before lunchtime 12.45pm, if wanting to get a message to your child. This way messages can easily be passed on to their teacher. Our reception staff are unable to leave the office to deliver messages to students so we cannot guarantee your child receives the message after lunch.

Thank you for your consideration in the matter.
