Industrial Action - Strike Update

The Ministry of Education and PPTA & NZEI unions have paused Industrial Action until end of Tuesday 30 May.

• Year 13 students will be open for instruction as normal on Tuesday, 30 May.
• Year 12 Rostering Home strike planned for Thursday,  1 June will be cancelled or confirmed early next week.
• Primary School will remain open on Wednesday, 31 May even if the NZEI has a strike.

PTA Fundraising - Thank You!

Thank you to our parent community for your generosity in helping us fundraise.

2pm Finish for King's Birthday Long Weekend

Please note that school will finish at the earlier time of 2pm next Friday, 2nd June. 

• Bayes buses - will all leave early for the 2:00 pm finish.
• Go-Bus buses - routes 217, 218 and 215 will leave early for the 2:00 pm finish, all other Go-Bus routes will leave at the usual time of 3:15 pm.

Monday, 5th June is a Public Holiday for the King's Birthday.

Mufti Day for World Vision

There will be a Mufti Day on Friday, 9 June. 

Students are encouraged to bring a gold coin donation with all proceeds going towards the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge.

Uniform Shop Hours - Temporary Change

Temporarily, the Uniform Shop will close at 3.00 pm on Wednesdays instead of the usual 4.00 pm. As soon as we are able, we will resume the usual time of a 4.00 pm finish. 

KingsWay Community Worship Night

This event is always such a powerful evening and we are excited to do it all again in 2023! On Wednesday, 31 May, come down to the Senior Campus, for an evening filled with praise and worship, as well as a guest speaker and spaces to connect and kōrero. All are welcome – bring your friends, churches, youth groups, life groups, and families for an awesome night of connection with each other and with God.

• 6:30pm – Doors will open for supper and connection
• 7:00pm – Service will commence
• KingsWay Event Centre - 100 Jelas Road, Red Beach

Assessment Assistants

KingsWay School is seeking volunteers to support our Senior students during their internal and external assessments. Support involves reading a NCEA activity brief and/or writing for the student. These assessments occur during school time and may be for a 45-minute period or a 85-minute double period, notice of these times will be given. We are looking for positive, patient and flexible people to join our casual team of Assessment Assistants. You DO NOT have to be good at a particular subject, but your handwriting should be legible, and you must have English language fluency in speaking, reading and writing. Training is provided. Please be advised that potential Assessment Assistants will be required to complete a police vetting consent form.
