A Note from Cristal McKoy 

New Head of Primary School

Tena koutou,

What a privilege it is to be part of KingsWay School and to have this opportunity to lead our wonderful primary in this next season. It’s a unique and challenging time for so many at the moment, but despite all that’s going on, I step into this role with confidence that God is at the helm and goes before us. I have always been encouraged by the way our KingsWay community surrounds and supports each other in every season. This season is no different, not just with practical needs being met, but the love and compassion of Jesus being shown to those around us – something that needs to shine brightly in this world we find ourselves raising our children in.

Having the opportunity to lead our Primary School excites me both personally and professionally. I have been dedicated to the field of education for 20 years, having begun my teaching career at a large primary school in West Auckland, before continuing on to KingsWay in 2019. I have a passion for raising and empowering great teachers and leaders who value parent partnership, lifelong learning, innovation and cultivating a safe, caring and exciting environment where your children can grow in their faith in Christ.

I love that we are all learners and value staying up to date with advances in teaching and learning, to ensure that we are providing the best possible education for your children. I want to see our students grow into confident and articulate learners who engage, take opportunities, develop relationships and grow as followers of Christ.

I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of KingsWay in the years to come, but right in this moment, I am excited about the year ahead, taking on the challenges with confidence and an open heart, knowing that God has so much in store for KingsWay Primary!

Year 6 Leadership

Here at KingsWay all Year 6 students have the privilege of serving in different leadership roles throughout the year. Our School Motto:

“Servant Leaders are people of Godly character who are willing to act on what they believe.”

The development of servant leaders is integral to our vision. We look forward to working with our Year 6 students and developing their leadership character throughout the year.

Mrs. Cristal McKoy came to speak to our Year 6 Cohort about being servant leaders at KWS. It was such a blessing for us as our new Head of Primary celebrated with our Year 6 leaders.
