Important Full School Notices - Staff Resignations

KingsWay School —

Carolyn Coles (Head of Faculty Senior School Maths) resigned from teaching this week after 15 year’s of service to her profession, due to personal reasons. She taught Statistics in the Senior School and served as Principal’s Nominee for NCEA. Carolyn was instrumental in setting up KingsWay as an examination centre. I wish her well in her future endeavours. The management aims to support Carolyn’s students as we transition teachers, which could include extra tuition outside of class time. We have employed Mr Joseph Neupert to cover Carolyn’s classes who starts today.

Jordan Barley (Assistant Head of Primary) resigned from his position at the end of Term 3. He plans to join his family in business. He has been an amazing leader who has embraced Christian education. Please see Jordan's letter below written to the community.

Kindest regards,

Graeme Budler
Executive Principal

A Note for the Community (from Jordan Barley)

Tēnā koutou KingsWay community,

After 15 years in Education, with what will be almost 7 of those here at KingsWay School, I am writing to share that I will be moving on from Teaching (for now) and KingsWay at the end of Term Three, to work in Residential Development. I am super excited for new adventures, learning and challenges ahead, in a very different sector of work.

In my role as Assistant Head of Primary here at KingsWay School, I have not only gained many lifelong personal relationships, within our community, but significant professional growth and an immense value for Christian Education.

The KingsWay community has been more than a workplace for me, it’s been a ministry that will continue to hold a significant place in my heart. I have valued the relationships with the learners who I have been entrusted to teach and share Christ with on a day-to-day basis. Such meaningful work, such a supportive community, such generous and talented educators, such trusting and empowering leadership. Thank you all for your part in my time and experience at KingsWay. I will always be proud and grateful to have been able to add to the work of this amazing school. With my own children continuing at KingsWay, I will remain present in the KingsWay community, as a parent.

Some of my highlights have included freely educating Christianly through a biblical worldview lens; The many opportunities to take groups of children outside the classroom on Sport Days; Enabling community connection through combined KingsWay School events; Connecting KingsWay with other local schools and organisations; Serving through overseas missions; Attending Education conferences in New Zealand and abroad and becoming familiar with the wider Australasian Christian School community, in which KingsWay is placed.

KingsWay is a special community close to the mission and heart of the Lord, and although times and seasons change, God remains faithful and we can take full confidence in Him, knowing He is unchanging. We are blessed to have a school of such calibre here for our children on the Hibiscus Coast that will continue to position this generation to reach their full potential as servant leaders in the Kingdom of God.

Aroha nui,

Jordan Barley
