KingsWay School —

Week 4 at the Junior Campus

It is hard to believe we are nearing the half way mark in Term 1! We have enjoyed the past few weeks, having had various opportunities to meet and greet with the many new, as well as familiar faces in our parent body. Thank you to all who were able to make it out to meet your child’s teacher in Week 4. We do say it regularly, but one of the keys to your child’s success in school is a healthy parent-school partnership. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s teacher if you feel you need to discuss any concerns or to communicate with them about anything.

Last week we enjoyed the Year 5&6 Swimming Sports, held at Northern Arena. The children had a great time in the fun races, as well as the more competitive timed races. Congratulations to all of the children who gave it their all in the pool. Colossians 3:23 reminds us that this is what it a display of good character is all about – giving a whole-hearted effort for the Lord! Thank you also to all of the parent support on the day, without the willing helpers, these events cannot run as they do. We really appreciate you. Please see below for the swimming results.

We currently have Ramesh Lakmal, a professional cricketer from Sri Lanka working on a Friday with our year 3-6 children. Under contract to Auckland Cricket, Ramesh runs a cricket programme designed to develop some of the key skills through game-based learning. I would definitely encourage some backyard cricket at home, so that your children can show you some of their new batting, bowling and fielding skills!

Blessings,
