Junior Campus Notices - Week 2, Term 4 2019
Please read the following parent notices for the Junior Campus.
A Note from Jenny Harvey
Dear Parents and Caregivers
It’s hard to believe that we are in the last Term of 2019, with only 7 weeks of school to go!
Last week saw our newest intake of delightful little 5-year-olds starting school for the first time, under the watchful care of Mrs Jay Smit (who has returned from maternity leave) and Mrs Kim Geden. We welcome the new families to KingsWay School and trust that you will quickly form friendships with other parents and families within our community.
Yesterday I had the privilege of taking another group of visitors for a tour around the Junior Campus, walking through both the Kauri and Totara Studios while the students were learning. It was such a pleasure for me to see your little ones quietly getting on with the activities they were engaged in, chatting together, working collaboratively on tasks, sitting with their teachers or focus on completing an aspect of their work independently. The quiet ‘hum’ of learning was clearly apparent. I was, once again, filled with a sense of the tremendous blessings we enjoy and the privilege it is to be able to teach our children in an environment where ‘El Shaddai’, God Almighty, is honoured and freely worshipped.
Term 4 is a busy term and a particularly exciting one for our Year 6 students who head off to camp on Wednesday!
Please make sure to read the newsletter that comes out every week as it will contain important information, dates and times for you to diarise.
Your children will begin to tire, so please keep their bed times early and make sure that you are building enough ‘downtime’ into the afternoons or evenings for you to enjoy with each other.

Year 5 and 6 Cricket Zone Day
The Cricket Zone day is coming up. This event is for any ability, whether you have played before or not. Girls are strongly encouraged to join in as there is also a girls section. If your child would like to participate in this day, please register your interest by emailing Raelene.Beguely@kingsway.school.nz by Tuesday, 29 October. Invitations to play will be sent out that week.
Umpires Needed: We also need umpires for this day (November 7th) so if there are any Year 7-13 students who are keen to help (cricket ability can vary – you do not need to have played cricket as all information will be given), please also contact Mrs Beguely as soon as possible. Of course, parental permission will be needed in order to do this.
Weet-Bix Tryathlon
Entries are now open. KingsWay School has created a School Group for the local Hibiscus Coast Weetbix Tryathlon to be held on Sunday, 22 March, 2020. This event will be held at Manly Beach and is very popular for thousands of children across the Auckland area.
If you are registering your child/ren to take part, please select KingsWay to join our School Group, as it may mean that we are eligible to win prizes for our school.
