A note from Vanessa Gatman

Dear Whanau of Junior Secondary,

We are very proud of the strong start our students have made to the 2022 school year. Our launch day ‘Uncharted’ was significant in building our sense of belonging and celebrating our new Year 10 space; Te Kainga. The students had an orientation day where they have set up their digital platforms, orientated themselves to expectations of learning and behaviour, their new timetables, and their subject options. There will be some features of systems and procedures that will take longer to familiarise themselves with, but we will support them as they do that.

Thank you for encouraging your children to be self-managing, responsible and well prepared for each school day. Year 10 is a step up, therefore the expectations are raised. Our Junior Secondary teachers are committed to helping students ‘lift their game’ in all areas of school life and to become consistent with correct uniform, punctuality, and respectful behaviour.

We look forward to this term where we will continue to implement new elements to our programme such as academic tutoring, whanau time and wider learning.
