Week 1, Term 3

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,

We hope you have had a neat time connecting with friends and family over the holidays. This term we have the Year 8 Speech Competition happening in Week 8. We will give time during school to work on these but some of the speech writing and practicing will also happen as part of homework. Speeches are one of those things that some people love and others loathe. We want to encourage all our students not to shy away from challenging things and to feel the satisfaction of persevering through difficulties. Speech competitions also give opportunities for students to shine who do excel in presenting to an audience. Thanks for your support from home in supporting your child to do their best. 

A reminder to complete the Year 9 option subject selections by Friday, 28 July.

  • Tuesday, 25 July: Open Day
  • Thursday, 27 July: Year 1 - 13 Parent Teacher Conferences
  • Friday, 28 July: Year 9 Option Selections Close for 2024
  • Monday, 31 July - Thursday, 3 August: Production Rehearsal Week
  • Friday, 4 August - Friday, 11 August: The Lion King JR - Live Shows

2024 Year 9 Option Subject Selections

Option Subject Selections for Year 9 2024 will happen in the first two weeks of next term.

Option subject selections for 2024 are now open in the Kamar Parent Portal. Please login and make selections before the close off date. If you need a password reset, email notices@kingsway.school.nz .

  • Thursday, 20 July 2023 – Year 9 Option Selections Open
