Useful resources to assist parents and whanau with addressing some of the distress caused by COVID-19.

Dear KingsWay Community,

I am encouraged with all the positive accounts of students and staff who continue to rise to the challenges presented by COVID. However, I am also aware that health professionals are reporting a surge in levels of anxiety across all communities. The Ministry of Education recently published some useful resources to assist parents and whanau with addressing some of the distress caused by COVID. Please use this information carefully as some of these resources are age-specific or may be incongruent with your family values. More guidance for parents, caregivers and whānau is available here and online at Te Rito Toi.

Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher by email, if your child is struggling to engage or keep up with distance learning. If the need is greater, please contact a school counsellor. Please use the Referral Form on the KingsWay School website under Pastoral Care.
