Junior Campus Notices - Week 4, Term 4 2019

KingsWay School —

Please read the following parent notices for the Junior Campus.

The Year 6 Camp

As mountains of luggage and sleeping bags started to appear on the front court, the unquenchable excitement was clearly seen on campers’ faces. With one eye on the weather and the other on the programme, the 2019 Year 6 cohort set off for Camp Adair at 8.45 a.m. on Wednesday, 30 of October.

After a 90-minute drive, we finally arrived at the long-awaited camp. With morning tea gulped down, enthusiastic chants echoed over the Hugh Lambie camp and the first activity started. The groups scattered in seven different directions – ready to take on the world.

With hearts racing and harnesses clicking in, eager faces looked up to enthusiastic instructors; the infamous, but dearly treasured, Confidence Course in top place as both most feared and most loved activity of the week.

As always, Rena, husband Gary and their catering team did an excellent job cooking meals that pleased the pickiest eater. The “How funky is your chicken” action song, performed by Camp Adair staff and Year 6 teachers was, once again, a highlight, and not even the frequent spits of rain could dampen any participant’s enthusiasm.

What an amazing God-centred camp we had, where students praised our awesome Creator through song, prayer, worship and committing lives to Jesus.

‘God of the Galaxies…He has me’ was the theme we carried throughout all of Term 4. Exploring how amazing our Creator God is, the children confirmed with strong voices the words of the of the song, ‘So will I….’
