Year 6 Newsletter
Week 4, Term 3
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,
This term in our Topic studies we are learning about how God is at work in the lives of his people and how we can be apart of that. We have been looking at Missionaries like Hudson Taylor and how he endured persecution yet accomplished saving the lives of many both in his lifetime and the generations to come. We have been reading about issues around the world and ways in which we as Godly Global Citizens can make a difference.

Children will travel by bus with their class teacher to the Northern Arena Pools for their lesson and then be transported back to school to continue their usual programme.
Children will need to bring the following to school each day:
A tog bag
Swimming togs

Swimming goggles
Children will change each day at school or at Northern Arena.
Children need to come to school fully dressed in school uniform and leave school in school uniform.
The Schools Program at Northern Arena holds a pivotal role of ensuring the safety and providing key life skills to children in the community. Learning to swim is as important as learning to read and write, which is why Northern Arena’s award winning learn to swim school focuses on changing and saving lives in and around water.
The Schools Learn to Swim program teaches children from years 1-9 to be more comfortable and safer in the water.
The program:
Caters swimming lessons for all levels and abilities.
Teaches students to swim and survive by learning correct stroke technique and swim fitness.
