Year 2 Newsletter
Week 5, Term 4
Hello Parents and Whānau
We are so blessed to be part of a school that goes right from year 0-13. This was so evident this week when some amazing Year 9 students joined our Owhanga on Wednesday for a work experience day. Riley, Chloe and Maya joined us and they were a great example of servant leadership in action. They listened to readers, got their hands dirty, literally, helping our students dye their backgrounds for our art, and encouraged and supported our young ones. Who knows, we may have inspired some future teachers!
We were also privileged to be able to participate in the KingsWay Middle School assembly on Monday morning. Three of our brave students walked across to perform and share their pepeha. Unfortunately, the video would not upload so we could share how courageous they were to stand up on the stage in front of the whole Middle School!
This week we have been letting our creative juices flow as we sketched sunflowers and brought them to life with bright colours as our pastels danced across the paper. Each sunflower is unique just as each of our tamariki have been wonderfully and fearfully created by our God. Be sure to keep an eye out for them as we start putting them up for display in our Year 2 Ōwhanga.
