Message from Vanessa Gatman - Deputy Principal Middle Years
Kia Ora Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,
I pray that you have had a great week. I am very proud of The Lion King JR. cast and the calibre of performance put on over the last week. As we draw to a close tonight and celebrate our final show, I am thankful to the staff who have committed themselves to ensuring they nurtured the students to their very best. I am sure at times, our students felt the pressure, were challenged beyond what they thought they were capable of and surprised when they saw their growth. This kind of pressure transfers into students' learning and wellbeing. We support our students by applying healthy pressure. Pressure is often given a bad rap. It is positive because it helps our students to discover their capabilities and strengthens their resilience. Thank you for your support in championing your children on when the pressure is applied.

Middle Years Wellbeing - Deans
Recently I have been thinking about the significance of our words.
Proverbs 18:21 states, "The tongue has the power of life and death." Our words possess the remarkable ability to either pour life over people or doubt and negativity.
Did you know that, on average, women speak around 20,000 words daily, while men use about 10,000? Imagine, that's 10,000 to 20,000 chances every day to plant a seed. Seeds with the potential to either sprout into pillars of hope, truth, kindness and encouragement or seeds that become piles of lies, jealousy, anger, and resentment.
As we journey through the remainder of the year, my prayer is that every student will know what it is to harness their words and make intentional decisions to sprinkle seeds of life, hope and truth.
