School Specific Distance Learning - Orange Traffic Light System

KingsWay School —

Thankfully the number of students isolating due to Covid is reduced significantly and so too has the total number of days they are away from school. For these reasons, we have modified the Distance Learning programme from the start of Term 2. While you would still register your child as a positive Covid case, you no longer need to register for Distance Learning. Please email absences as normal and your children’s homeroom teacher so they are aware. Students who are well, can continue accessing their learning through their normal learning platforms while at home.

Primary Students

Please click on the link to access our Distance Learning Platform. Here you will find:

  • A link to your child's weekly classroom plan
  • Links to year level workshops that support Reading, Writing and Maths skills
  • Links to key online learning platforms that support your child's learning from home
  • NB: Please contact your child's classroom teacher if you need any usernames or passwords to access any of the online learning platforms.

Please remember that this is not a lockdown learning plan or pack like you have received previously. The purpose of this distance learning programme is to help your child access key learning that is happening in class and provide some support through targeted learning workshops. This learning is designed for students self-isolating for a short time and not designed as a permanent or long-term measure.

Senior School Students

If a student has to self-isolate or be at home due to COVID related reasons, parents should contact both the Form Class Teacher and each of their Subject teachers to let them know, including the timeframe they will be out for.

Dependent on the subject/course, teachers will start the first 15-20mins of their class on teams, which will be recorded and posted on the class channel. For some subjects (e.g. some arts or technology subjects), guidance for students isolating will best be delivered through a combination of email and posting of work on teams.
