Kids Connect Camp 2025
Reaching Their Full Potential in Service and Missions - ministering to the disabled.
On Saturday, 22 March, six Year 9 students attended the Kids Connect Camp in Onehunga. Elevate Disability Trust and Children's Bible Ministry (CBM) co-host this camp for children with disabilities. Our students were 'buddies' for the day. Each student was assigned to a camper and was their friend and helper. The theme was Ready, Set and Go. Some of the activities involved arts and crafts and more physical games and competitions. They also heard a message about how Jesus called His disciples. Our students were excellent, patient buddies. The campers had an amazing time and went home tired but happy.

I was very privileged to be a buddy at the Kids Connect Camp this year. The theme was 'Ready, Set, GO!' and we got to dress up in our costumes. My friends and I decided to dress up as traffic lights and we matched our outfits. I got to meet my buddy, and she was very kind and social. We enjoyed doing activities, listening to the devotions and sports together. My favourite part of the day was the tabloid sports. I would 100% recommend this day to anyone who has the opportunity to join in.

I had the privilege of going to Kids Connect Camp as a buddy this past Saturday . It was a fun-filled day, with lots of activities. My buddy was very sweet and loved to join in. My favourite part of the day was doing all the crafts and the amazing devotions. My favourite craft was the stained-glass framework . It was such an easy way to replicate the effect of stained glass. Going along with my friends and working alongside people who are not different than us but are made unique, was such an eye-opening moment for me and made me realize how amazing everyone is, and that we are all loved.
