Important Notice to ALL Parents and Caregivers of KingsWay School.
Following our Prime Minister's announcement today that schools will be closing, please read the important update from Graeme Budler.
Dear KingsWay Community,
To quote an almost cliched phrase, ‘we are living in unprecedented times.’
To streamline the flow of information, I have created a Frequently Asked Question resource bank. When you open our KingsWay School website, the information is listed as a pop-up before entering our Home Page - CLICK HERE (this might take a few seconds to load). I aim to update this information regularly as and when new information comes to light.
KingsWay School, along with other New Zealand Schools, closes today for everyone except for children of essential services as identified by the government. We have cancelled all co-curricular activities effective immediately until further notice. There appears to be some ambiguity regarding the Prime Minister's announcement today as to whether the holiday break has been brought forward or not. I aim to clarify this tomorrow. We will wait for a government announcement closer to the end of the holiday time as to whether they lift Level 4. Please note that regardless of whether the country continues at Level 4, KingsWay plans to commence online learning for Middle and Senior Schools students and a modified programme for Primary students.
As church services are disrupted, may I suggest that you access RightNow Media. This is an excellent, resource available free to all KingsWay families and staff. If you have not received a subscription, please CLICK HERE to receive an email invitation.
On a more personal note, I was challenged by a friend to stop using the term social distancing but to use the term physical distancing instead. At this time, we need to connect more than at any other time socially. I challenged our senior students to actively seek out opportunities to encourage each other and identify areas for gratitude.
Kind regards,
Graeme Budler
Executive Principal
