Dear Parents,

I hope that the last fortnight has gone well for you. It’s been a busy few weeks in the Senior School again. Members of the Senior Management Team have been in and out of classes recently and we are impressed at the level of engagement and learning that is taking place in classes. We are privileged to have a team of educators who truly care about students’ development in all areas.

Vanuatu Mission Trip Boot Camp

12 students and 5 staff members (pictured above) recently completed their first boot camp at the Orewa Scout Hall in preparation for the Vanuatu 2019 Mission Trip in July this year. Students and staff were practising Christian songs, games, drama items depicting parables from the Bible and learning missional information for use in Vanuatu. The team had a wonderful time of fellowship and learning and are beginning to gel together and develop friendships. This will help ensure the success of the mission later this year. Please take the time to uphold the team in your prayers.

Please support the Vanuatu Mission team MUFTI DAY and Pizza Lunch next week, on Friday 15 March.

Notices

Senior School Athletics Day - POSTPONED to Monday, 11 March

Due to the inclement forecast tomorrow we will be postponing the Senior School Athletics Day to Monday, 11 March. All other details for the day remain the same; including students coming to school in their House colour mufti, with appropriate sun smart clothing. All students should report to their Form teacher at 8.45am before boarding the buses. The event is being hosted by Takapuna Athletics club in Onewa Domain and we welcome any support or encouragement from parents or family members.

Notice about the Climate Change Rally (Schools 4 Climate Action)

A number of secondary school students are expected to attend this event scheduled for the 15 March.

Please note that:

1.  As a school, we do not encourage students to attend this. Instruction time is valuable and there are already numerous reasons students miss out on classes during the year.
2.  If you choose to allow your son or daughter to attend this and you let us know in advance, they will be coded as an ‘unjustified absence’, as this is not school-relateded event. Otherwise, if there is no explanation for their absence, it could revert to ‘truant’.
