Year 8 Newsletter
Week 3, Term 3
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,
Year 8 classes are battling through challenges as part of our Social Studies unit Clash of Kingdoms. So far we have come up with a name and origin story for our civilizations based around the natural environments we drew. We are basically playing a big game between all the Year 8 classes completing tasks to win points and move up in the competition. This provides an engaging context to learn about ancient civilizations and aspects that every civilization needs in order to grow and prosper. If you happen to hear about a strange sounding race of people speaking a language you have never heard of that may well be why!
Upcoming Dates:
- Friday, 4 August - Friday, 11 August: The Lion King JR - Live Shows
- Thursday, 24 August: Year 7-8 Auckland Mathex

It is that time of year when stationery is starting to run out or needs replacing. Could you please ask your child if they need anything topped up and send it in with their names on? Rubbers, rulers, pens and pencils seem to be high on the list.
