KingsWay School —

A Note from Graeme Budler, Executive Principal

Dear KingsWay Community,

Nga mihi mahana kia kotou katoa.

It seems like we have been in lockdown forever, with many of us starting to feel a bit of cabin fever. A counsellor friend of mine encouraged me to mix things up when I hit the wall. She suggested ideas like organizing family situp competitions, playing board games instead of watching tv, dressing up for dinner et cetera. Her point is that lockdown can force us into a rut which can feel quite depressing when separated from friends and family. So why not join my family and mix it up this weekend.

The leadership are anticipating and preparing for an announcement on the move to Alert Level 3 on Tuesday next week. We expect that most learning will continue as per Alert Level 4, with a few exceptions for a small group of children of essential workers.

I wish you all a fantastic weekend.

God bless,

Graeme Budler
Executive Principal

  3. Healthy daily routines for people working from home.
  4. Children and teen workspaces.
  5. The role of faith helping to navigate lockdown.

Wellbeing Webinar:
Wednesday 29th September, 7pm

We are pleased to be hosting another wellbeing webinar in a couple of weeks. This time we have two speakers from Laidlaw College who will present around how Gen Z and teenagers think and operate within a predominantly online lifestyle. We will cover practical wisdom tips for parents on topics like gaming and social media. More details and a link to this meeting to follow next week. Feel free to share this with anyone in your community. With life at the moment predominantly being online with learning and connection with others, the more strategies and knowledge we have to help our young people the better.
