Full School Notices - Friday, 31 March
Dear Parents,
Kia ora koutou. I appreciate your patience with the disruption caused by the recent teacher strike action. Hopefully, the next round of negotiations with the Ministry of Education will prove more fruitful. If not, there is more strike action planned for next term. We will keep you informed when we receive more information.
I was made aware that some parents did not receive the last strike action KingsWay App notification. In future, we will ensure that we post urgent and essential updates on the KingsWay website and Facebook page and send them via email. However, please, can I encourage all caregivers to download the KingsWay App if you have not done so already? Please visit our Communication website page and select the 'School App' dropdown for instructions on how to download the app. The App is our preferred communication medium for urgent and vital updates in an emergency. For instance, if the school goes into lockdown, the best way to inform parents is through the App. Not everyone constantly checks their email and the KingsWay website, which creates a risk in such an emergency. We will endeavour to keep App communication to a minimum. Our routine and important communication medium remains the weekly Hail email.
Thank you in advance for your support in this matter.
Nga mihi nui,
Graeme Büdler
Executive Principal

Special Character Donations
Dear Parents,
Special Character donations continue to ensure that KingsWay offers an authentic Christian special character programme that delivers on the intent of the School’s mission statement and Vision for a KingsWay Graduate. Simply put, KingsWay School cannot continue to effectively operate without your special character donation.
Don’t miss the opportunity to catch up on your KingsWay donations and receive a 33% refund from IRD. Please refer to the Special Character Donations on your recent KingsWay statement. Any Donations received by 31 March will be eligible for the 33% Donations Rebate payable by the IRD directly to you.
We want to thank everyone who has already donated for 2023. We value your partnership.
Please deposit your donation as follows:
- Account number 12-3084-0192348-00
- Reference your child’s student ID number and surname
- Code SCD (Special character)
Note all donations made before 31 March 2023 will be included in our annual Donation Tax Receipt for 2022/2023.
Enrolments in 2024
KingsWay School families are encouraged to make applications well in advance of the entry point for their child.
If siblings have not been enrolled officially, places could fill. Please ensure you go through the same application process for all your children.
Homestay Families Needed
KingsWay School is looking to increase our accommodation options for International students. We are wanting to find outgoing, active, loving, families who would be excited to host an international student in their home. Preferably families with school aged children.
- Homestay families need to be fluent English speakers.
- A homestay caregiver needs to provide all meals, compassionate care and concern for the student.
- They will be responsible for an international student 24/7 when they are not attending school.
- Not all international students come from Christian homes so potentially this is an evangelistic opportunity.
- An international student needs to have their own bedroom equipped with bed, linen, wardrobe and/or drawers, desk, lamp etc.
- Homestay families are remunerated with learning about another culture, showing the love of Jesus and being paid $320 per week.
