Supporters’ Code of Conduct

KingsWay School —

Positive attitudes on the sideline, when supporting sports games, goes a long way to ensuring all involved will enjoy the competition. This is why KingsWay School has a 'Supporters' Code of Conduct'. When attending games to support a KingsWay team we ask that the following be adhered to:

  • Be positive in your support for all teams.
  • Show appreciation and respect to all coaches, managers, officials and those who volunteer their time so the players can play sport. Please do not question, shout or abuse them.
  • Be a positive role model for the KWS player in your attitude towards sport.
  • Make sure the KWS player plays by the rules and principles of fair play.
  • Always be positive and never ridicule or shout at players.
  • Acknowledge good play from both teams.
  • Remember doing one's best is more important than winning. This separates the player from the outcome of the team game.

Coaches and Managers give up their time freely, therefore, at a game never question, discuss or confront coaches at the game field.

Often, when a spectator instructs a player from the sidelines it contradicts what the coach is instructing the player to do and this confuses the player. Please DO NOT INSTRUCT the players from the sideline as this is the coaches job only.

Your greatest asset for the players during games/practices is your encouragement, not your coaching.

Please remember a positive attitude on the sideline goes a long way to ensuring all involved will enjoy the competition 😊

Thank you for your support.
