New Bicycle and Scooter Parking

KingsWay School —

We are excited for students on Senior Campus to utilise our newly built Bike & Scooter Shelter (pictured above), which will be available from the start of Term 3. This will create a larger area to safely store bikes and scooters during the school day, out of the wind and rain, and away from congested spaces. To create a more safe environment for staff and students this has been built in the car park behind the Te Kāinga.

From the beginning of next term, any student who rides their bike or scooter to Senior Campus will be asked to put them in the new shelter racks as all existing bike racks will be removed.

If students cycle to school across the bridge from Millwater, they will no longer be permitted to enter through the back gate. Instead they will need to continue around the estuary pathway and enter school grounds through the gate beside the COLA. They will then dismount, and walk up the school drive way to the Bike & Scooter Shelter. See map for new route below.

For students who arrive at the Senior Campus on bicycles or scooters through the Jelas Road entrance, they will need to dismount at the crossing and then walk down the short drive way to the Bike & Scooter Shelter. At the end of the day students will repeat these steps in reverse.

In summary, all students who cycle to school, are to safely utilise the new Bike & Scooter Shelter and avoid cycling through the school grounds.
