Senior School News and Notices

KingsWay School —

As we round off the year, we want to take this opportunity to thank all parents and caregivers for your continued support. As we all know, this year has been uniquely challenging and as leaders and teachers, we do appreciate your graciousness, understanding and encouragement. While there have been many missed opportunities, we do believe that God has still been at work and has helped students and staff alike grow as a community but also on an individual level.

Have a blessed and happy Christmas.

NCEA Examinations

This week marks the end of NCEA Examinations. We want to commend the students who have persevered and endeavoured to either improve their UEG grades or in other cases have sat their exams for the ongoing learning experience. Some we spoke to even said "because I enjoy the content and subject so much". As educators, it is great to see this emerging love of lifelong learning develop in these students’ lives!

Year 10 End of Year Program

As we write this, the Year 10 End of Year Program is starting. We are blessed to have such experienced and passionate staff who are so invested in sowing into our Year 10’s lives. As we know, living in the 21st Century presents students with a wide range of complex challenges and as part of our broader curriculum, it is important that we help equip students to navigate this. The topics covered today and tomorrow include: Hollands Code (personality discovery); Employability Skills; Relationships; Time-Management and Well-Being. A big thank you to Cherie Perrow and the Pathways Faculty who have done a brilliant job conceptualising and facilitating these sessions.

Graduation

Tomorrow night we are excited to celebrate the Graduation of our Year 13 students. This cohort of students have been amazing servant leaders over a number of years and with the disruptions and challenges faced this year, we are looking forward to commissioning them for their futures. On Friday night (10 December), after individual Form class prayer, the link HERE will show a live stream of the celebrations, from 8.30pm onwards.

School Reports

Senior School Reports will be available online from Friday 17th December. These will highlight the learning and progress of Year 10-13 students over the second half of the year, including lockdown learning. An email will be sent on the 17th providing you access. Please note that some subjects may have a reduced assessment report due to the impact of lockdown on some learning programmes.
