Introduction to Secondary Umpiring
When: Wednesday 10th April 7.30pm & Sunday 28th April – 10.00am
Where: North Harbour Hockey Function Room
Cost: FREE
If you are supporting secondary school hockey in the form of an umpire for teams in Grade 2 and below then we recommend you attend this course.
This course is great for people that are umpiring for the first time or may have been away from hockey for a number of years and need a rule refresher.
The course is run by our North Harbour Hockey Umpire Division and covers the following topics:
- The role of an umpire
- Positioning
- Signals
- Rules
- Knowledge
- Interpretation

JUNIOR UMPIRE MUSTER
When: Monday 29th April
Where: North Harbour Hockey Function Room
Cost: FREE
This course is typically for but not restricted to young umpires (year 6 to year 11’s) who want to become confident in umpiring 6 a-side primary/intermediate, before entering 11 a-side umpiring.
Juniors can umpire on Monday, Tuesday or occasionally Saturdays.
Junior umpires receive a small remuneration at the end of the season.
