Dear Parents and Caregivers

The year always starts with a hiss and a roar, so I have included some of the whole school dates in the first few weeks for easy reference. However, please continue the practice of referring to the website and reading communication updates to keep informed of upcoming events and unexpected changes to the calendar.

The 2030 KingsWay Strategic Growth and Development Plan continues and will be shared, along with our specific goals for 2021, at the Full Parent Meeting on 2 March 2021.

School Regulations

I would also like to highlight a few important housekeeping matters that continue to challenge staff at KingsWay School:

• The standard of uniform and appearance of some of our students did not hit the mark in 2020. Please support us to remedy this situation in 2021. Please don’t spend money purchasing non-regulation shoes or clothing that do not comply with the procedures outlined in our handbook. We will also be following up on hair standards which slipped last year. If you are unsure of our rules and expectations, please refer to the KingsWay website uniform regulations. We do not want to make this a key focus of the year but are committed to upholding high standards of dress and behaviour.
  
  
• Finding a parking at the Senior Campus can be quite difficult during major events. However, parking is available at the Junior Campus which is a five-minute walk from the Senior Campus. The lower gate will be unlocked to allow you access via the Silverdale School entrance. Please refrain from being inconsiderate to our neighbours, see our KingsWay School transport regulations.
  
  
• The safe transport of students to and from school remains a priority. Caregivers are asked to read the updated Behaviour Expectations. Please ensure that all parents/caregivers of students who travel on the buses complete the Behaviour Expectations Form (found at the bottom of the Behaviour Expectations website page).
  
  
• Please avoid non-essential travel arrangements for students, especially for Senior School, during the term time, as this impacts on your child’s learning and socialisation.

In 2021 we celebrate 35 years of God’s faithfulness to KingsWay School. The school has scheduled a week of celebrations in September to commemorate this milestone in the school’s history. Please diarise this week; 6-10 September 2021.
