Prize Giving Photographs & Video of Year 6 Cup Winners

As we were unable to have parents at prizegiving this year we are creating a photographic record of your child with their certificate. These will be emailed to you by the end of the week.

School Reports

Your child’s report will be issued on Friday 17th December. Please note that as the teachers have had minimal face to face time with the students over the last 2 terms, the end of year reports will look slightly different this year.

In order to provide parents with authentic feedback about student progress the reports contain less information than usual and focus on progress in the core curriculum areas of Mathematics, Reading and Writing only. We will revert to our usual reporting format next year when all the students are back at school every day.

2022 Placements

Students class placements will be coming out with the school reports on Friday 17th December. Many children will be excited and some will be nervous. If your children get anxious about their new teacher we would encourage you to be positive. If they see you have confidence then they will find managing their own feelings easier. Please remind them of another time that they were nervous and overcame a challenge.

Meet the 2022 Teachers

This year instead of the students coming to visit the teachers in their spaces, the 2022 Teachers will be coming to meet the students in their current classroom space. Students will meet all of the 2022 teachers in their year level in preparation for next year.

Students Not Returning to School

Please make arrangements with your classroom teacher about when you plan to collect your child’s belongings, otherwise they will be on tables outside the hall for parents to collect on Wednesday 15th December from 9am – 3:00pm.

Lost Property

This is out each day at the top of the car park stairs, leading to the administration building. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity. Tuesday morning, the 14th of December will be the last day when items will be available.

Farewell to Our Lovely Staff

We wish to farewell these amazing staff who won’t be with us in 2022:

Jenny Harvey — Image by: KingsWay School
  • Jenny Harvey has been part of the school community for the last 18 years. We have loved her wisdom, kindness and heart for Jesus. Jenny has shared a lovely farewell message with the students at prizegiving. We have some special plans to acknowledge Jenny, including an artwork created by the students and a farewell video. Jenny will be very missed, however we know that God has new adventures for her and she carries our aroha and prayers with her.
Please read Jenny's farewell letter attached to the base of this newsletter.
  • Jess Craddock is finishing with us after 13 years of being in our community. Jess has been a most excellent teacher in the Junior area for most of this time. We will miss her expertise, her phenomenal creativity, and her gentle manner with the students.
  • Lea Healy, our wonderful Primary Administrator, is finishing with us at the end of this year. Lea has played a critical role in connecting parents and staff to everything that happens in the Primary School. Her friendly, bubbly, prayer-ready presence will be missed by all.
  • Hannah Irons and Rebecca Dove are going on Maternity leave. We look forward to meeting their little cherubs in the new year.
  • Marie Finlay, Dianne Bruce, Tarryn Wrath, Monique Taylor, Jeanette Moorland and Jennifer Forbes-Dawson leave us at the end of this year. They have all played such an important role in the school and blessed the students in many different ways during their time with us. We are grateful for the love and care they vested in our students.
  • Kim Geden has finished her one-year contract with us and we thank her for her hard work.
