Cricket Zone Day - Umpires Needed

Do you know any students at school (Year 9-13), university, or adults who could help with umpiring for the upcoming Year 5 & 6 HBC Cricket Zone day on Thursday, 16 March? They will only need basic cricket knowledge and/or be interested in helping. A training session is being planned for the umpires to attend before the day.

Junior Secondary Notices

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,

We have so much on in the Junior Secondary space!

The students went on the ‘Early Auckland’ trip this week. At each historical landmark, they explored the social, political and religious factors as well as the people that shaped our city. I am sure that students gained an appreciation for their city. They heard stories of grace and community inspired me to help to continue to play role in this city’s story for the glory of God. I want to thank Mr Hawkins, Mrs Brooks and all the teachers that supported the trip. We are so blessed to have such passionate experts teaching our students.

In the week ahead, some of our students are participating in the ‘Strength to Strength’ Leadership conference over the course of the week. On Tuesday, other students are participating in a STEM event in conjunction with a British aerospace company working with the New Zealand Air Force. Another group of students are supporting the Top Town event in the Middle School. There are many leadership opportunities for students, and it is so encouraging to see students taking on responsibilities and pursuing their passions with such enthusiasm.

Unfortunately, due to a change in circumstances at Te Herenga Waka o Orewa Marae, we are not able to visit. Thank you to all who filled out the permission form. We will endeavour to provide further cultural experiences and education and are currently looking into alternative options. Thank you for your understanding of this.

Ngā mihi

Paul Miller
Head of Junior Secondary

Middle Years Wellbeing - Deans

At KingsWay School, we aim to promote the importance of attendance across the school community. We must continue to work together to do all we can to prioritise our students’ attendance at school so that they can enjoy their learning and socialising with their peers. Students need every opportunity to learn, participate, and flourish by regularly attending school or kura.

We would also like to emphasise the importance of being at school on time to support your child’s academic success and sense of well-being. School starts at 8.45 am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 9:00 am on Wednesdays.

Students need to be in their class before the bell so that they:
