Personal Faith and Character

Top House
    by KingsWay School

Although delayed by a term, the Senior School Top House Community Day was held during Week 4 and was an absolute blast. Joined by the Junior Secondary Year 10s, students arrived wearing their whānau colours and ready for some competitive and non-competitive activities throughout the day. The disruption of Covid-19 on community days like these made this all the more a special day together, with whānau groups competing in physical challenges, strategic activities, and finishing with a chant-off. Students across whānau and year levels definitely made the most of the day, and there was a great spirit of community and connection throughout the event. It certainly was a highlight to see so many students supporting and encouraging their peers to give things a go, ending in an epic chant-off that shook the roof of the new AstroTurf!

A massive thank you to the Whānau council for putting together a large and successful event, with connection and community-building at the centre of it all. Congratulations to Cook Whānau, who came out winners overall on the day, followed closely by Braddock. Darby finished third, with Youngman in fourth place, but not by that much. The closeness of the competitions shows that the Whānau spirit is alive and well in the Senior School in 2022.
