Volunteers Needed

Do you have at least one hour a week available to support our students?

KingsWay Senior School is seeking volunteers to support students requiring Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) during their NCEA internal and external assessments. This involves; reading the NCEA activity brief or questions for the student, or writing, or reading and writing for the student - these assessments can occur at any time or day of the week. We are looking for positive, patient and flexible people to join our casual team of reader-writers. You DO NOT have to be good at a particular subject (although your handwriting should be legible if you are writing for a student). Full training is provided for this role. Please be advised that potential reader-writers will be required to complete a police vetting consent form.

If you have some spare time and would like to make a big difference to our students' lives, please email our coordinator, julia.haythornthwaite@kingsway.school.nz to express your interest.

Parking on Neighbouring Roads

If parking outside of the school grounds on neighbouring roads, PLEASE be considerate and ensure your car is parked legally and not parked over driveways inhibiting local residents and our school neighbours from exiting/entering their own driveways. Recently a neighbour phoned the school complaining of this issue.

Entertainment Book Fundraiser

We’re fundraising with Entertainment Book again this year, with all proceeds going to KingsWay Missions.

Just a reminder that if you do not want a Book sent home next term, please complete and return the flyer that was sent home, to the drop-box in Reception by Friday, 5th April.

The flyer has a section (at the bottom) for parents to opt out and also contains information about purchasing a Book or Online Membership.

Thank you for your support! Every Entertainment Membership we sell, contributes $14 to support our School.
