Communication at KingsWay School

Dear KingsWay Community,

KingsWay uses several communication platforms, each serving a different purpose. Understandably, everyone has different levels of capacity to navigate this information. From Term 2, 2022, we hope to trial a measure to simplify communication.

Must Read - Weekly Email

We will email one piece of information weekly on a Friday, containing all essential and urgent information. This newsletter includes all links to trips, parent-teacher conferences, sports opportunities, etcetera, and is a one-stop place for super-busy parents who want the bullet point version. The layout will allow you to scroll through relevant information quickly. Hopefully, this will minimise navigating several platforms and the website to find last-minute information. You can still find a link to your child's teacher's comment for Primary and Middle Year students, so we hope it is still personal. For Senior School students, you may need to communicate with your child regarding upcoming trips, or if you miss something, you may get an email reminder.

Should Read

This information is nice to know but not essential. It includes strategic updates and information such as the school policies and procedures located on the website. While it would be great if you took the time to read this information to stay abreast of the latest developments in the school and your child's learning, it is not essential. Publications like the termly Connect Magazine, KingsWay School website, See-saw and Annual Reports fall into this category. We will share links to this information in the weekly newsletter when they are published.

Nice to Read

We will continue to use the KingsWay Facebook and KingsWay Connect pages to update you on life at KingsWay School. These pages celebrate life at KingsWay and are used to acknowledge success and student achievement.

What about Emergency Information?

We continue to use the KingsWay School App to inform parents in the case of an emergency or to disseminate urgent information. Please subscribe to this App if you have not done so already.

To download the KingsWay School phone app

• Go to the App Store on your Apple or Android device
• Search for SchoolAppsNZ.
• After downloading, open the app and search for KingsWay School.
• Once KingsWay School has been selected, your app will automatically open to the KingsWay School platform from now on.
• Make sure you select which Alert Subscriptions you want to receive notices from within the app. See the image below:

How do I contact my child's teacher or school leadership?

Please use email to send non-issue information or arrange a virtual or in-person meeting with a staff member. All emails are standard with the first name followed by the surname, e.g., jane.smith@kingsway.school.nz. Staff lists can be found on our school website under Our Staff.
