The Middle School places a high degree of importance on developing young people as servant leaders who can use their gifts and talents to influence their communities. All students are encouraged to be role models who show Christ to others, and the development of character is an integral part of Middle School culture. Students have opportunities to develop their skills and abilities through leadership conferences and regular mentoring, as well as by serving on Leadership Councils and as Class Leaders.

Class Captains Year 7-9

Two leaders from every form class are selected each semester. The Class Captains initiative provides a platform where students have a voice and a contribution to school life.

Team Descriptors

Enviro Team
Considers environmental issues at school. The team then follows a process of brainstorming, consulting, communicating and implementing ideas to increase our environmental awareness and responsive action in Middle School.

Media Team
Coordinates and serves as a team to ensure the smooth running of media at school events.

Missions Team
Establishes ways of enabling and engaging Middle School to reach our community to serve and show the love of Jesus.

Peer Support Team
Actively involved in building relationships and discipling other younger students at KingsWay School by preparing engaging and age-appropriate devotions and discussions.

Whanau Leaders
Creates a whole Middle School culture of fun, getting involved and having healthy competition. This is achieved by leading Whanau assemblies and implementing new ideas and events.

Sports Team
Contributes to life in Middle School by creating sporting events such as lunchtime activities. This group runs our PE Shed and plays an important role in Middle School sport days.

Arts Team
Creates a wide variety of artistic opportunities for our students to participate in, including talent quests, chalk art days and design challenges.
