Primary School Leadership

Year 6 Leadership 2022

KingsWay's School's Mission Statement is "To be a Christian community of learning that nurtures young people towards their full potential as servant leaders in the kingdom of God". This statement guides our Leadership Programme in Year 6, where our senior students have the opportunity to be school leaders throughout their final year in Primary and prepare them for Middle School.

As teachers, our shared vision for our students is to develop their character in the following areas:

  • Servant Leadership: No job is too small or unimportant. I see a need and help. I care about the Kingsway vision. I want others to thrive and the Junior Campus to be the best it can be.
  • Encouragement: I cheer others on and can get others to cheer, too. If someone else does well then we all win! I am growing in my faith in God and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Enthusiasm: I have a 'give it a go' attitude and get involved.
  • Reliable: I can be counted on to do what has been committed to, even when it doesn’t feel important or I don’t feel like it.
  • High Standards: I try to make good choices at school and in my life. I carry out my responsibilities to the best of my ability.

This term the Year 6 students were appointed in the following leadership roles: Sports, Peacemakers, Daily Notice Runners, Road Patrol, Librarians and IT/Media. They embraced these responsibilities with wonderful servant hearts and fulfilled their roles to the best of their abilities.

Mrs Cristal McKoy came to speak to our Year 6 Cohort about being servant leaders at KingsWay School. It was a blessing for us as our newly appointed Head of Primary School celebrated with our Year 6 leaders.
