Prefects 2022 by KingsWay School

Senior School Leadership

Our KingsWay Senior School students are blessed to have many varied opportunities to develop their leadership abilities and giftings. This year, the prefects and councils are doing a fantastic job. Despite the various Covid restrictions, they show initiative and stamina in organising events and encouraging each other in their specific roles. We highlight for these students that leadership, at its best, is servant leadership — just as Jesus modelled for us. We are proud to see students running with this vision in 2022.

The Heads and Deputy Heads oversee all the various areas within Senior School and lend support to other prefects as they, in turn, lead their councils with the Teachers in Charge. There is a prefect assigned to each council who is also part of that council. The Head Prefects have taken an active role in visiting each of the councils this year to lend their support in various ways.

Our Kaiāwhina for 2022 is Asha Leqeta. Asha is doing a wonderful job highlighting and championing Maori Tikanga at KingsWay School. ‘Yeah the Boys’ is in its second year this year and it is great to see this council work collaboratively with Rise Girls to promote positive school culture mutually. The students in leadership this year are thriving, and we look forward to hearing how they continue to develop as leaders as alumni from 2023 onwards!
