Junior Secondary Launch Day - ‘Uncharted'

We are very proud of our students' strong start to the 2022 Junior Secondary school year. Our launch day, ‘Uncharted', was significant in building our sense of belonging and celebrating our new Year 10 space, Te Kāinga.

Each of our form classes wore a different coloured t-shirt with an ‘Uncharted’ design created by one of our Alumni, Lily Gatman. The day was packed with fun challenges, and form classes competed against each other for the ultimate prize; $200 Millie’s voucher. Our guest speakers, Graeme Budler (Executive Principal) and Vanessa Gatman (Head of Junior Secondary) both cast a vision for the students for the year ahead and encouraged them to step up and step out.

The four statements that were introduced and have been revisited again and again are Be Teachable, Be Respectful, Be Courageous, Be Responsible. Following the launch day, the students had an orientation day where they set up their digital platforms, and orientated themselves to expectations of learning and behaviour, their new timetables, and their subject options.
