Asian Outreach

During the last weeks of this term, Year 5 students had three special 'Mission Minded Kids' sessions run by Asian Outreach NZ. They had fun learning about different cultures, the 'Great Commission' and the role of missionaries. They experienced a taste of what life is like for persecuted Christians, learnt about water-access problems, and helped build a water-filter. If you'd like to recreate that experiment at home, here is the link to the instructions: https://science.lovetoknow.com/science-fair-projects/homemade-water-filter-science-project

At the end of the sessions, the children learnt about disadvantaged children in Mongolia, who don't have the right gear for the freezing winters. They were given a challenge to put into practice being 'others-focused' by fundraising for warm jackets and boots (Winter Kits) for those children. Asian Outreach aims to support children with this next step for being 'mission-minded'!
