Kahui Ako - Term 3 update
Our Kahui Ako group have been in the process of looking at the ESOL Principles and seeing how we can incorporate them into our classrooms by using different strategies.
The professional development around this includes our staff being videoed using the techniques they have learned. This will be followed by discussions within year groups and faculties investigating ways they can be adapted into our own areas of teaching. The purpose of this is to engage all our learners and so improve student outcomes.
For our Wellbeing focus, we will be continuing to develop our understanding of student wellbeing and how we can help our students, particularly those at high risk. Again, we are hoping to make the session very practical so that staff can feel equipped to ensure they can help students cope through the stressful times of their lives.
