Middle School Service

Service is highly valued by Middle School and many opportunities are given for students to serve within our school and in the wider community.

KingsWay Middle School has an ongoing relationship with the Auckland Council where students and teachers work in regional parks, particularly Wenderholm, on an annual basis. The Park Rangers are very appreciative of the work completed by students and often contact the school to ensure we will be participating in our regular Service Day with them. This year we had almost half our Middle School volunteer which was wonderful.

There is also a day at the end of the year where students engage in activities such as cleaning up Orewa Beach and the Te Ara Tahuna Estuary pathway. We look forward to further community service initiatives in the future.

Student leaders from Middle School councils provide activities and ideas for the Middle and Junior Schools. The Enviro Council, which has members from Years 7-9, has been active in organising work in the local surrounds and encouraging Middle School students to care for their environment.

As a Middle School, we aim to maintain a focus on service and hope to provide many opportunities to serve others in the future.
