PTA Ladies by KingsWay School

Parent Teacher Association - PTA

A huge “kia ora tatou” to our school community from the PTA...

We started our year with a hiss and a roar, with a wonderfully rejuvenated and revitalised PTA who collaboratively initiated many new ideas for 2020.

Our Grandparents Day was a huge success that gave us to chance to honour these special people and offer them the opportunity to see the children in action at school. During the same week, we were delighted to raise $5000 at our Annual Book Fair, from which all money raised goes straight back into the library to resource our school with spectacular books.

Throughout 2020, our fundraising goals are to raise funds towards our Junior Campus playground and Performing Arts technology for the Senior Campus. So far, we have raised $26,000 towards this but, along with the rest of the world, our plans have been hindered due to COVID-19.
We hope to reschedule our Ladies Night and hold a Fun Run later in the year.

For now, our focus is on nurturing our community.

Over the last few months, our parent community have had to become teachers, medical advisors, chefs, cleaners, household planners, negotiators, counsellors, laundry executives, finance managers, health care managers, activities directors, and generally the ones who held it all together in this time of crisis. Several of these roles may have been quite new to you, and you became apprentices on the job. Some of you were able to share these roles with the other adults in the household and others were alone. Many of you juggled all this with a full-time job working from home. The challenges have been vast, and different for each family.

The PTA has a crucial role in caring for our community, and we want to reach out and connect with you.

  • Is there something we can assist you with?
  • Is there somewhere we can refer you to?
  • Do you have a source of provision for those in need?

We want to keep building on our support networks to strengthen our families within the KingsWay whānau, so if you think you have something to offer or have a need, please reach out to us by emailing

Arohanui to all our families. Be well and stay safe.
